My baby’s in the hospital :(

Well, my motorbike’s in for repairs. The girl that hit it at work decided that insurance (or telling her dad) wasn’t the way to go and has agreed to pay in cash. I dropped it off to Silver Star yesterday, the first time I’ve let anyone else touch it… can’t wait to get it back sans rattles :)

Missing categories problem with Wordpress 2.6

So, loads of people are having issues with this as per a search or two on the Wordpress forums, and I found myself in the same boat. Check it out – I found a fix :)

I inserted the wp_categories table from my backups and then ran the sql query I found here:

update wp_term_taxonomy, wp_categories set description = cat_name where term_id = cat_ID;
update wp_terms, wp_categories set name = cat_name, slug = category_nicename where term_id = cat_ID;

My bike got nudged :(

I knew it would happen, but I was hoping it wouldn’t happen soon… My bike got reversed into tonight by some silly little blonde girl in a Rav4.

It got knocked over onto its left side, scractching the clutch cover, the bar end and muffler. It seems that she’d run straight into the right hand indicator, smashing that and scratching the fairings around it.

The worst part of it all – it looks like the bolt that holds most of the right hand fairing on has snapped out of the mounting in the frame (the mount failed, not the bolt – worse) so that’s going to be a right pain in the ass to fix :S

At least I got her details, so I’m going to get a quote and hopefully she’ll be insured and I won’t have to fix it.

Under pressure

I figured I should have checked the tyre pressures on the way home from purchasing the bike, but as usual with these sorts of things I was a lazy dick. I checked ‘em today with a cheapass digital tyre pressure gauge I bought from Supercheap Auto and found they were at about half of what they were supposed to be – 22/27 front/back instead of 36/41!

Kids, if you have to nearly double your tyre pressure – there’s a reason your bum’s wiggling a bit around corners. :(

It feels a lot better now that it’s setup properly!
