Ghetto Genius!

I just had to link to this – The Infamous Ghetto Inground Pool – long story short, guy thinks he’s getting a penguin (it was a scam) and puts one of those giant inflatable pools in his lounge room. Genius!

Terrible sellers… sigh.

I can’t be bothered whinging too much about it now, but this fuckwit “oldholdensneverdie” who I assume is the store for American Autos took ages to fulfill my order. The “Buy It Now” was clicked and submitted on 20/12/05, I’d sent payment by the next day, including shipping. I sent a message to the seller when that was done, including the payment details. Not hearing anything by the I sent a message asking for when the item was sent, and asking for the tracking number.

03/01/06 Sent:
Hi, I was wondering if you had sent this item yet? I know that it’s the christmas period, but urgently need this item.

Thanks,
James.

ON ITS WAY

Could you please supply more tracking information – as it’s listed as being sent by registered post, there should be a tracking number. Payment for this item was sent on 21/12/05, and it is now nearly three weeks later and I have not received the item. If I do not receive either the item, or full information in the next 24 hours on when the item was sent and tracking information, I will be reporting this as a fraudulent sale to eBay.

Regards,
James Hodgkinson

ill send it through this afternoon just waiting to recieve it

10/01/06 Sent by me:
So you’re only just sending it now? Please send me a message/email as soon as it is sent with any tracking information that you have available. I need this part as soon as possible.

11/01/06 Received:
it will be there today or tomorrow

So the long and the short of it, the seller had stuff for sale that they didn’t even have in stock! I wish there was something I could do to bitch this customer out more, but eBay’s “buyer protection” only works if you don’t get the item at all. Fuckers!

Boredom

I’m super bored… how are you all? It’s raining. Again. I’m sure that my car’s probably full of water again, and I’m just killing time until I can get my ass in gear to get ready for work. At least I’m floor manager today, that means I don’t have to do much unless it gets hellishly busy. I should go find a book to read, I’m recompiling EVERYTHING on my gentoo desktop machine so that hopefully some of the weirdness will go away.

emerge -e system; emerge -e system; emerge -e world; emerge -e world

That should take a while, I don’t know what step it’s up to, all I can see is “emerge: (171 of 614) app-text/ghostscript-esp-7.07.1-rc Compile” in the window title. It seems that I might be waiting a week or so for this to finish :)

Sydney tickets booked!

Ok, so my Uncle is quite a good photographer, has come out with some amazing shots at times, and is sick of building boats and navigating them all over the place. So he’s come to the conclusion that opening his own studio to exhibit and sell his photos is the way he’ll go in the future, and that’s happening on the first weekend in February. This is a seriously cool thing to me, and I, along with my parents are going to go down to Culburra – an aparrently sleepy little town on the coast near Nowra in New South Wales.

So, I’m flying to Sydney on the Thursday… at 5:30am, then we’re driving down, coming back on Monday night. Hooray for cheap tickets, it’s only costing me $182 return. My share of the hire car is $100, so that’s transport sorted. Hopefully by that time I’ll be able to save up a bit so I can go shopping in Sydney, I’ve heard there’s some nice places you can get anime and so forth for cheap ;)
